Zippo LTD Lost At Age 30

NSBA is sad to report the passing of Zippo LTD. The 1987 gelding was inducted into NSBA’s Hall of Fame in the Show Horse category in 2008.

‘LT’ had a show career for the record books. Most notably, he was the show partner of Andrea Farley and Julia Dawn Taylor. He amassed nearly 6,000 AQHA points and $122,113.49 in AQHA earnings.

LT was destined for success as he was bred in the capable hands of Ann Myers by Hall of Fame sire Zippo Pine Bar and out of Hall of Fame mare Ima Blister Bug.

Julia reflected, “How blessed we were to have 30 years with this once-in-a-lifetime champion! LT’s career spanned over 20 years in the show pen, and he touched so many lives.

“We especially want to thank the people who provided LT with an exceptional life since he left the spotlight. Kristin and Richard Pokluda gave LT a retirement fit for a king, not to mention a little girl to love everyday with Madison. I’m entirely certain that’s what kept him going.

“Thank you to Highpoint Performance Horses for the exceptional care and training that you provided LT throughout his career. LT, like so many of your champions, not only won at the highest levels, but stayed healthy and happy while doing so. Jason Martin and Charlie Cole have been there every step of the way in this process, and I’m honored that LT will be laid to rest at High Point.”

NSBA offers its sincerest condolences to all of those involved with LT's show career.
