The National Snaffle Bit Association is saddened to report that Joe Paris of Adrian, Michigan, has passed away.

The long-time horse trainer loved Western Pleasure horses and was a life member of NSBA. Joe showed as a Non-Pro and later a Limited Open and Open rider over the years with NSBA. Most notably, he showed Sonnys Black Gold in Western Pleasure in the 1980s, earning $7,348.72 in NSBA competition.

Joe is survived by his three daughters, Ty (fiancé Kyle Dougherty), Jodi (Wesley) Postell, and Michelle Fowler, as well as two sisters, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A private service will be held for family and loved ones at a later date.

Joe’s family has requested that memorial gifts be directed to the National Snaffle Bit Association Foundation Trainer Crisis Fund at nsba.com/trainers-crisis-fund or mailed to NSBA at 1391 St Paul Avenue, Gurnee, IL 60031. Arrangements are being managed by Anderson-Marry Funeral Home in Adrian, Michigan.
