The National Snaffle Bit Association is saddened to report that Quarter Million Dollar Club member Keith Whistle has passed away.

Specializing in futurity Western Pleasure horses, Keith had a long and successful career that spanned from the 1980’s to his last year showing horses in 2009.  Keith would win both the Two Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity and the Three Year Old Western Pleasure Derby at the All American Quarter Horse Congress aboard Vital Signs Are Good, and just a few years later won the Reichert Celebration $100,000 Equine Sports Medicine Challenge with a son of Vital Signs Are Good, Invest In Vital Signs, for owner Kristen Galyean.

He also showed such successful horses as Lazy Loper, Zip Me After, Openrange, Majestic Scotch, Mr After Shock, Zippos Good Image, The Mouse Is Talkin, Cool Lookin Lady, Ona Impulse, Weretalkinradical, Ima Due Gooder Too, Protect Your Assets, A Good Luv, Simply Hot, Blazing Hot, The Krymsun Kruzer, Hot N Spicy Me, A Passing Breeze and Shesa Hot Cookie. Throughout his career, he was an AQHA world champion as well as multiple All American Quarter Horse Congress and futurity champion.

Keith was inducted into the NSBA Quarter Million Dollar Club in 2000. He won more than $605,800 in lifetime NSBA earnings.

NSBA extends its condolences to Keith’s family and friends.
