Thanks to the support of the Bob and Ingrid Miller Family of Mesa, Arizona, the National Snaffle Bit Association and NSBA Foundation were proud to host the second edition of the Heroes on Horses – West, at the 2023 Arizona Sun Country Circuit. The event began with the Parade of Heroes, where NSBA members honored and recognized the sacrifices of all United States servicemen and women. NSBA was grateful to be able to include Legion 133 as the Color Guard, and to have the Scottsdale Mounted Police participate in the Parade of Heroes.
A total of eighteen veterans took part in the procession held prior to the competition, with eight individuals joining on foot, and ten veteran men and women on horseback. NSBA and the NSBA Foundation would like to congratulate all ten of the heroes who showed for a fabulous Western Pleasure class.

About the NSBA
Established in 1983, the National Snaffle Bit Association has expanded from its roots in the Western Pleasure discipline to recognize various disciplines and eight breed associations in competition. NSBA’s mission is to grow the show horse community through various equine programs and events where every activity benefits horses, breeders, owners and exhibitors alike.
The National Snaffle Bit Association has more than 20,000 active members and more than 44,000 registered horses across its eight alliance breed organizations. In 2021, NSBA members earned more than $13.6 million in monetary awards at NSBA-sanctioned horse shows. The association sanctioned nearly 600 horse show events and close to 200,000 horse show entries last year.
