In a commitment to assist our membership with marketing their yearlings, NSBA is offering an online supplement to the Markel Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale. Each year, a limited number of consignments are accepted on a first-received basis. For the first time, consignors on the waitlist have the option of placing their yearlings in a supplemental online auction hosted by Pro Horse Services LLC. The yearlings listed in the online auction will receive all benefits of consigning in the Markel Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale, including eligiblity to participate in the Sale Graduate Program as a two or three-year-old.
Markel Insurance Breeders Championship Futurity Yearling Sale Coordinator Bill Kaven had this to say about offering the online supplement auction, “Due to the number of entries that are normally turned away each year, we wanted to provide those members an opportunity to market their yearlings as well. We are excited to offer this supplemental online option for the 15 yearlings that did not make the first 110 entries and hope that this will also allow buyers another opportunity to purchase a yearling that will be eligible for the Sale Graduate Program.”
The Supplement Auction will open for bidding at 4:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday, August 18 and close at 12:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, August 19. The yearlings in the Online Supplement Auction are not required to be physically present at the NSBA World Show. Potential buyers may arrange with the seller to view and/or have a veterinarian examination performed, at their expense, at a time and place agreed to by both seller and buyer.
