Time seemed to have a strong statement in the champions in this year’s Masters Two Year Old Hunter Under Saddle on the final futurity night of the All American Quarter Horse Congress.
Beth Case Shows 'Bruce Lee' to Masters Win
Discipline, hard work and quietly achieving goals marked the career of the late Bruce Lee, and his equine namesake seemed to follow the same strategy when Beth Case showed Al Right Already to win the Masters, earning a $10,000 paycheck for owner Rebecca Kazakevicius.
“We can him Bruce Lee,” Rebecca said. “We already had a Bruce in the barn at Highpoint, and didn't want to change his name. He is a half-brother to Horton (Not Just Anyhoo),and is by Allocate Your Assets and out of Skys Strawberry.
“He’s so brave, the blowing wind and rain tonight just didn’t bother him at all. I bought him off a video from Sandra Butler, who bred him. Beth had started him, and I really hadn’t got to see him much because I’ve been traveling so much. When I saw him here, he just looked awesome. I had never got to ride him until we got to the Congress. He had a great top line, a huge hip and a lot of presence. He’s pretty special.”
Bruce Lee helped Rebecca reach a big show goal. “I’ve never had a Masters champion before, and now I can check that off my bucket list. It’s great!” she said.
The win was Beth’s fifth Congress Masters Two Year Old Hunter Under Saddle championship in Hunter Under Saddle. She had previously won the class with Hot Ones Only in 2008, Quality Art in 2009, A Boy Named Hoo in 2015, Because Shes Worth It in 2016, and now in 2019 with Al Right Already.
“He’s a little on the lazy side,” Beth said of Bruce Lee. “He really is brave – we had a lot of blowing in the tent and it was pretty dark in there on the way into the arena, and that didn’t bother him at all. He’s a lot of fun to ride, and we had a really good ride in the class.”
The future is a little unknown for Bruce Lee. “He’s for sale, Beth said. “If we don’t sell him, we’ll show him next year.”

Time Was Right for Limited Win by Amber Pickard and Bout Time Baby
Amber Hanson Pickard and Bout Time Baby knew it was about time to have a great performance in the Two Year Old Hunter Under Saddle, and they not only earned the reserve champion Open title but won the Limited division of the class. They earned $5,000 for the reserve title and an additional $5,000 for the Limited division win for owners Brent Husky and Michelle Breneman Sandoval.
Amber noted that the mare, known as Ginger, is known for her laid-back personality. “She’s kind of like a sloth, she doesn’t do anything in a hurry,” Amber said. “She has a big lofty trot, and you can just pitch her away and show her.”
