The National Snaffle Bit Association released the 2017 payout statistics for the Stallion Incentive Fund. A total of 4209 points were earned by Stallion Incentive Fund Licensed horses in 2017 at Dual Approved and Special event shows with each NSBA point earned paying $31.00.

The payout is based on the purse of sold breedings for the current year. In 2017, there were 269 stallions nominated to the program with over 11,000 eligible to earn incentive funds. The Stallion nominator receives 10% of the earnings of offspring, the horse nominator earns 10% and the owner of the horse earns 80% of the payout.

2017 also saw changes in the administration of the program. In 2017, the stallion services were sold through and online auction beginning October 1. Stallion owners donate one breeding to be sold to mare owners funding the purse. Stallion services remain available for purchase online through a "buy now" option making it easier for all parties to purchase stallion services resulting in a greater number of sold stallion services. Changes were also made to the fee structure for foal enrollments. Foals are eligible for enrollment from weanling age through the two-year-old year.

With the highest paying stallion incentive fund, stallion and mare owners alike are encouraged to participate in the NSBA Stallion Incentive Fund (SIF) program.
