The final Saturday of the NSBA World Championship Show saw plenty of action in four arenas throughout the day, and several world champions and futurity champions named.
A year ago today, Judy Zeitler was traveling home from the NSBA World Show after breaking her arm, more specifically her humerus bone, in a horseback riding accident while practicing at the NSBA World Show. On Saturday, she earned her second win at the 2019 NSBA World Show.
“We won the world championship in the Two Year Old Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle, and now the BCF Two Year Old Limited Open,” Judy said.
“This horse is my favorite one ever. He’s by Iron Enterprise, whom we love, and out of an Investment Asset mare. He’s so good minded, especially for a stallion. He was really tired today, but he showed really well. He’s so soft when he moves, and is just very consistent.”
Aubrey Alderman recently sold the stallion to Anya Danielson, who will keep him in the same barn with Judy Zeitler. “I wasn’t really looking for a stallion, but I loved his movement and his temperament,” Anya said. “Having a world futurity win is very exciting.”
Blue Sky Enterprise has been achieving futurity wins all over the country this summer, but on Saturday it was Kristen Kocsis turn to have a world championship title with ‘Teddy.’ “My mom, Deborah Jury, bought him from Amy Smith, and she’s decided to share him with me during his three year old year this year,” Kristen said.
“We got him at the end of June. He’s just amazing. He’s such a good horse, and just does his job. He has tons of personality on the ground and he’s kid-broke which is a real plus. Before we got him, we didn’t think we would get to show this year.
"We will be showing in Amateur and Junior Hunter Under Saddle and the three year old futurities at the Congress and the AQHA World Show. Next year, my mom will be showing him in Select Amateur Hunter Under Saddle.”
Tim Snapp took a gelding that he and his wife raised in Ohio to win the Color Breeders Championship Futurity Two Year Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure. “We named him Mac after Cindy’s dad, Jerry ‘Mac’ McMann, because he was born on his birthday,” Tim said.
“Even when he was out in the field playing as a baby, he was good. Our trainers, Wade and Carly Parks, picked him out right away. We plan to show him at the APHA World Show in the Breeder’s Trust big money class in September.”
Tim is involved behind the scenes at the NSBA as well as several other major shows. “My company supplies all of the ribbons and medallions for the NSBA World Show and the All American Quarter Horse Congress, so it was great to be able to come and show and support it,” Tim said.
Hes Lazy No Doubt took Tanna Petersak to her very first world championship in the Maturity Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure.
“He is the easiest horse to show, and I’ve had a blast showing him,” Tanna said.
“He’s just so naturally talented. He’s a ten jogger and a ten loper, so all I have to do is keep him square and he does the rest.”

Because Im Honest and Jamie English had a busy morning on their way to winning the Breeders Championship Futurity Three Year Old Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle. Jamie had a quick change from the futurity class to the very next event, the Breeders Championship Futurity 4-6 Year Old Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle, while her mount known as Moose, had just come from the Hunt Seat Equitation pen with owner Sunni Duke.
“He is super tired, but he’s been such a good boy, Sunni noted. “He’s going to be my next All Around horse.”

Erin Girolamo showed Zip Is It to their first world championship title in Novice Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation on Saturday.
“I bought Frankie a little over a year ago,” Erin said. “In this pattern, I really liked the transition from the canter down to the sit trot to my next canter. I wanted sit because I have a good sitting trot and I wanted the judges to see that. He’s a really great equitation horse.
“This win means a lot. It’s been a long year for me personally, and my barn family has kept me sane and focused and I couldn’t do it without them. We showed in every class.”
Other repeat champions included Hubbout A Dance saw another world champion title with Lisa Ligon in the irons for the Breeders Championship Futurity, showing for owner Madison Nierenstein; Edited For Content, Allison McDonald showing for Marlee Canfield to win the Green Hunter Under Saddle; Because Shes Worth It, with Beth Case showing for Jennifer Levingood, futurity champions in the Color Breeders Championship Futurity 3-6 Year Old Open Hunter Under Saddle Futurity; Look N Hott and Laurel Champlin, world champions in Select Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation; Sleepin In The Park and Kelsey McArther, Color Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation world champions.; and Jaida Dreyer and KM Betch Im Best, who she showed to win the Breeders Championship Futurity Three Year Old Limited Open Western Pleasure as well as the Three Year Old Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure.
